Tony Heit

Past President Board of Directors

Tony Heit was born and raised on a small farm in Western Saskatchewan. He was farming until 1980 when a car accident left him confined to a wheelchair. Tony obtained his social work degree and worked for the Ministry of Social Services as a youth worker and Saskatchewan Mental Health as a councillor for 20 years. He is currently retired and has been volunteering on the Cheshire Board of Directors for the past 12 years.

Eldon Ortman

President Board of Directors

Eldon Ortman is a retired Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who spent over 30 years in the Agriculture, Manufacturing and Mining industries. He retired in 2021 after spending the last nine years of his career with K+S Potash Canada as Senior Corporate Controller and interim Chief Financial Officer. He served on the Briarwood Community Association Board of Directors from April 2013 to April 2022 and joined Cheshire Board of Directors in May 2022. He looks forward to working with the Board and Leadership Team!!

Don Klaassen

Member of the Board of Directors

Don has been a resident representative on the Board of Directors since 1994. He moved to Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon after becoming a quadriplegic in a hockey injury, and began attending university. He graduated with his law degree in 2003 and since has worked as a lawyer for the federal government. Don has chaired the Policy and Nominating committees of the board, as well as the committee that worked on the development of the newest house at CHOS which opened in 2011.

Ivan Windjack

Member of the Board of Directors

Ivan was born and raised in Saskatchewan. After high school and further formal education, he began a successful career working for a warehouse and sales distribution company. For the last 26 years, Ivan worked as a member of the management team. His primary responsibilities were for all credit and accounting functions in the corporate region. Analysis of customer financials for credit granting purposes as well as working with our own corporate financials has given him the knowledge and skillset in the area of finance. After retiring from the business world in 2012 Ivan joined the Board of Directors at Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon in 2017. Ivan sincerely hopes that his experience and background will be of benefit to Cheshire and all the Residents.

Susan Knight

Member of the Board of Directors

Susan Knight has worked in the disability community for over thirty years. Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon holds a special place in her heart having worked there between 1988 to 2000 where she maintained the Executive Director position in the last year. Susan continues to work in the disability community with visually impaired children. For eight years Susan volunteered with the Special Olympics coaching competitive swimming and now coaches with the Lasers Para Swim program.

Lynne Salamon

Member of the Board of Directors

Lynne Salamon is an Occupational Therapist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority since she graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1989. Areas of practice have included geriatrics, rehabilitation medicine, acute neuro, the acquired brain injury outreach team, private practice and
community therapy. She has also volunteered with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists, the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation Board, the River Heights Community association and  Ecole River Heights School PTA.  Lynne joined the Cheshire Board in May of 2022.

Kristin Johnson

Member of the Board of Directors

Kristin Johnson graduated in 2007 with a Business Accountancy Specialty Diploma.  As part of her accounting career she worked as an accounts payable receivable clerk and as a business auditor for the provincial government.  She continues to bookkeep on a casual basis while making a career change, following her passions and raising her young children.

Kristin has previously resided on a preschool board as the fundraiser chair.
