Tony Heit

Tony Heit was born and raised on a small farm in Western Saskatchewan. He was farming until 1980 when a car accident left him confined to a wheelchair. Tony obtained his social work degree and worked for the Ministry of Social Services as a youth worker and Saskatchewan Mental Health as a councillor for 20 years. He is currently retired and has been volunteering on the Cheshire Board of Directors for the past 12 years.

Launel Scott

Launel Scott has worked with the disability community for over thirty years. From health, government, private and community-based organizations she continues to strive for enhanced accessibility and equity for all. Joining the CHS Board of Directors offers a focus on ensuring accommodation with services for individuals living with disabilities to reach their maximum potential.

Don Klaassen

Don has been a resident representative on the Board of Directors since 1994. He moved to Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon after becoming a quadriplegic in a hockey injury, and began attending university. He graduated with his law degree in 2003 and since has worked as a lawyer for the federal government. Don has chaired the Policy and Nominating committees of the board, as well as the committee that worked on the development of the newest house at CHOS which opened in 2011.

Ivan Windjack

Ivan was born and raised in Saskatchewan. After high school and further formal education, he began a successful career working for a warehouse and sales distribution company. For the last 26 years, Ivan worked as a member of the management team. His primary responsibilities were for all credit and accounting functions in the corporate region. Analysis of customer financials for credit granting purposes as well as working with our own corporate financials has given him the knowledge and skillset in the area of finance. After retiring from the business world in 2012 Ivan joined the Board of Directors at Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon in 2017. Ivan sincerely hopes that his experience and background will be of benefit to Cheshire and all the Residents.

Susan Knight

Susan Knight has worked in the disability community for over thirty years. Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon holds a special place in her heart having worked there between 1988 to 2000 where she maintained the Executive Director position in the last year. Susan continues to work in the disability community with visually impaired children. For eight years Susan volunteered with the Special Olympics coaching competitive swimming and now coaches with the Lasers Para Swim program.

Carson Ramsay

Carson Ramsay joined the Board of Directors in 2019 following her mother’s residency at Cheshire Homes of Saskatoon. As someone who has been directly involved in caregiving, an advocate, and a personal educator, she has developed a character that is open-minded, empathetic, and receptive to learning from others.  She is committed to identifying and participating in proactive change as a Board Member on the Fundraising & Public Relations Committee and Resident Support Committee. Carson resides in Saskatoon and has worked in the agriculture industry for over ten years.

Jeremy Sibley

Jeremy Sibley is a Property Agent with the City of Saskatoon, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan and Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia.  Shortly after learning about Cheshire in 2019, he volunteered and was accepted to the Board of Directors as the City of Saskatoon representative, and currently sits on the 2903 ad hoc committees.  Jeremy resides in Saskatoon with his wife and two young daughters.

Vivian Baycroft

Vivian Baycroft grew up in rural Saskatchewan and has resided in Saskatoon since 1976.   She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan. Before retiring in 2018, she worked 38 years with the provincial government primarily in the Ministry of Social Services. She has experience and knowledge in all aspects of non-profit operations and Board governance. Over the course of her career, she collaborated with a variety of community, government, First Nations and Metis stakeholders to develop new programs and assist them to maintain services to meet the needs of persons with disabilities, children and youth, and families.

Eldon Ortman

Eldon Ortman is a retired Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who spent over 30 years in the Agriculture, Manufacturing and Mining industries. He retired in 2021 after spending the last nine years of his career with K+S Potash Canada as Senior Corporate Controller and interim Chief Financial Officer. He served on the Briarwood Community Association Board of Directors from April 2013 to April 2022 and joined Cheshire Board of Directors in May 2022. He looks forward to working with the Board and Leadership Team!!
